Crusade Week: “High Marshal” Gerhardt

This is Gerhardt, the Marshal of the Calixis Crusade. I made him before Black Templars got their range refresh. He was meant to be a counts-as High Marshal Helbrecht because I wanted an all truescale army. And the old Helbrecht is…well he’s not a tall man. The story for this guy can be found in my Crusade Lore posts. But to sum it up, he wears his predecessor’s armor. But it’s covered in black robes and the heraldry is blacked out while the crusade is in mourning. And by mourning I mean furious retribution.

Of all my model from my early hobby days, this one is my favorite. Not because it’s an especially creative kitbash, but the paintjob is probably the first one I was ever proud of. It looks dated to me now but I’ll never touch it up for that reason.
